The football world has been left devastated by the sudden death of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota.
Diogo Jota was involved in a car crash on Wednesday night, which proved to be fatal for both Jota and his brother.
The news was confirmed by Liverpool on Thursday morning, and tributes have since poured in from across the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp has now also posted an emotional tribute to his former player.

Jurgen Klopp shares emotional message following Diogo Jota’s tragic death
Klopp, who brought Jota to Liverpool in 2020 and managed him for four seasons, shared an extremely moving tribute.
Taking to Instagram, he shared a picture of them together with the following message: “This is a moment where I struggle! There must be a bigger purpose! But I can’t see it! I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother André. Diogo was a not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father! We will miss you so much! All my prayers, thoughts and power to Rute, the kids, the family, the friends and everyone who loved them! Rest in peace – Love! J”
Premier League stars among others unite to pay their tribute to Diogo Jota
His former teammate Roberto Firmino also paid an emotional tribute, stating: “When words fail, all that remains are inexpressible groans. And for this reason, I get on my knees, praying that the Holy Spirit may console the hearts of Rute, Dinis, Duarte, Mafalda, Seu Joaquim, Senhora Isabel and all their family and friends. It was a privilege and an honor to have known and lived such special moments with you. Rest in peace my brother Jota, and André.”
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry also reacted to the news, posting a story on his Instagram account with the message: “RIP! Condolences to the family and his loved ones.”
Former Man United midfielder Paul Pogba also took to Instagram to post a picture of him and Jota in the same frame with the following caption: “My sincere condolences to the family.”
Jack Grealish shared an emotional post as well on his Instagram story: “Honestly lost for words. So heartbreaking. My thoughts go out to his whole family. The worst news. RIP Diogo and Andre.”
Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand also expressed his sadness over the news, posting on X: “Absolutely heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to Diogo Jota, Andre Silva, their family & friends!”
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice also shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram story with the following caption: “So so sad. Heartbreaking. RIP to Diogo and his brother Andre. Sending love and condolences to his family.”
