Diogo Jota’s love of football started at an early age, stemming from his father Joaquim and his uncle Ricardo’s days as semi-professional players for local teams in their native Porto.
Named Diogo Jose Teixeira da Silva by Joaquim and his mother Isabel, he was not ‘Jota’ by birth. The name he made famous was a creation all his own.
