Knowsley marks passing of LFC’s Diogo Jota

Flags on Knowsley Council buildings are being flown at half-mast today (3 July) as a mark of respect for the passing of Liverpool FC player Diogo Jota.

Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva were tragically killed in a car accident in Spain.

Diogo was a much-loved Liverpool player who will be sadly missed by the fans and many others in the Liverpool City Region and beyond.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council commented:

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the family, friends and teammates of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva following their tragic passing. This is a devastating loss that will be felt across the footballing world and by many here in our region too.”
