Leeds United's interest in Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz is not expected to go anywhere after reports in Italy suggest the player has no desire to move to Elland Road and would instead rather stay in Serie A if he is to leave Juve this summer.
The Whites have been linked with Luiz since the end of last season, with talk the former Aston Villa man was high on their list of preferred targets in what is an ambitious move. Luiz had a difficult season in Serie A last year following his £42m switch from Villa Park, which had seen him move closer to the exit door, with Leeds having clearly shown an interest.
Daniel Farke's team were looking at one stage this summer like leading candidates to potentially land the player, with a loan deal and a guaranteed option to buy in the £30m region one serious possibility. However, reports out of Italy suggest the player is not open to that scenario.
Italian outlet [Tutto Sport](https://www.tuttosport.com/news/calcio/mondiale-per-club/2025/07/03-141766721/douglas_luiz_out_la_juve_chiama_in_portogallo_e_comolli_snobba_la_priorit_di_giuntoli/3) report that Luiz is not finished with Serie A and if he does have to leave Juventus this summer, his preference would be to stay in the league and move to a neighbouring team. The prospect of moving back to the Premier League does not currently hold any appeal, which will not be what Leeds want to hear.
While Leeds may have been heavily linked, the Whites have are understood to have a number of midfield options which they are exploring, including options for a new number 10.
