Player’s entourage left unimpressed with Burnley – Transfer getting stuck

Burnley’s move for Lens midfielder Andy Diouf is ‘getting stuck’ after he was left unimpressed by demands made by Scott Parker’s side.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that despite an agreement and advanced negotiations, Burnley may not end up signing Diouf after all.

They explain that despite Burnley’s management expressing confidence on Tuesday evening that they would get a deal done for Diouf, it still isn’t progressing.

The Premier League returnees have an agreement in place with Lens and had almost secured the midfielder, but now it is close to collapse.

Diouf is yet to reach an agreement with Burnley, and they’ve grown impatient. They’ve made it clear that they want a deal done soon but this ultimatum was not well received by Diouf and his entourage.

Indeed, that displeasure is now complicating the discussions between the various parties and clearly leading to fears that the whole thing will collapse into nothing.

We would suggest that if things can get so complicated at this point, and a little fraught too, perhaps it is better that all parties do abandon matters and look elsewhere as it’s not the best way to start a new relationship.
