Kelly Gago joined Everton during the January 2025 transfer window and quickly established herself as a key player in the front line, scoring five goals and providing two assists. Her strong form earned her a spot in the France squad for the Women’s EURO 2025, currently taking place in Switzerland. The Toffees have been very active in the women’s transfer market, recently signing Van Gool from Ajax and being strongly linked with Japanese international Yuka Momiki.
What Kelly Gago has to say
“I am so proud to represent Everton every time I step out on the pitch,” Gago told evertonfc.com. “It was an amazing feeling to hear the fans sing my name at Walton Hall Park – it is going to be even better at our new home Goodison Park.
“I want to get on the scoresheet as many times as possible and help the team achieve its goals. I am really excited by the project that we are building and have had positive talks with Brian [Sorensen] about the future of this club.
Kelly Gago continued: “I want to be a key part of the project and help Everton get to where they want to be. I am yet to play at Goodison Park, but I am relishing the opportunity and can only imagine the buzz at stepping out of the tunnel for the first time.
“The owners have spoke to us players about their ambitions and they align with my personal aspirations. The Women’s Super League is the best league in the world, in my opinion, and I want to keep testing myself against top opposition.”
Words from the head coach
“I am delighted Kelly has signed a new contract with us,” said Sorensen. “She enjoyed an impressive first few months at the Club and fast became a popular figure in the changing room and also among supporters.
“She is a big part of my plans for next season and I’m sure she will make our first campaign in our new home a memorable one.”
