Chelsea have agreed deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens. This will be followed by the sale of 2 first team wingers. One of them was already away on loan in the 2024/25 season.
Chelsea have started the summer window on a very strong note. Earlier they signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Later, they signed Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Blues have now agreed a deal to sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund for £55 million.
However, the club also needs to focus on selling some of their players. They were on the verge to breach PSR last summer. This season is no different considering the amount of signings done. Hence, the Blues are now ready to part ways with 2 of their senior wingers.
Chelsea ready to sell 2 senior wingers
According to Football Insider, the Blues are now ready to sell both Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke. Sterling was already away on loan at Arsenal for entire 2024/25 season. On the other hand, Madueke has fallen down the pecking order due to his inconsistent form.
It is not a surprise that Chelsea are keen to sell Sterling. The 30 year old has not been able to impress ever since joining them. He was told by Maresca that he is not in the future plans. Hence, he joined Gunners on loan but has failed to impress there too. As a result, Arsenal have opted not to make him their permanent player.
On the other hand, Madueke has neen very good for Blues on multiple occassions. But, he has not been consistent which has resulted in him losing his starting position. On the right side, Maresca prefers Pedro Neto now whereas Gittens will take the left winger spot. Madueke is currently looked upon by Arsenal who are in an urgent need of a new winger.
