Report: £300k-a-week attacker told to leave his club after interest from Newcastle United

Jack Grealish is one of the biggest names to have been linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer.

Geordie Boot Boys understands that Newcastle could afford a loan deal for Grealish this summer despite his reported £300k-per-week salary, although that only answers part of the question.

Indeed, Newcastle United already boast Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes in left-wing positions, so it’s unclear as to whether or not Grealish would have a place in the squad.

Still, Newcastle have been linked with Grealish, who appears to be heading for the exit door at Manchester City after he was snubbed from their squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Now, an update on his future has emerged.

Manchester City want Jack Grealish sold by July 28

According to the Manchester Evening News, City are hoping for a resolution on the England international’s future by the “fresh deadline” of July 28, when Pep Guardiola’s squad return for pre-season.

Grealish has been told to find a new club, along with fellow England stars Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker.

The City players are on a break until late July after playing in the Club World Cup, where they were beaten 4-3 by Al Hilal in the last-16.

The 29-year-old needs to select his next move carefully. While he’s won a raft of trophies under Guardiola, there’s little doubt his star has waned somewhat in recent seasons.

Jack Grealish’s stats for Man City since the end of the 2022/23 season

Grealish has only started 40 games since City won the treble in 2023. During that, he’s scored only four goals while registering two assists.

Approaching 30 and surely needing to play if he’s to stand any chance of making England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, Grealish’s next move has to be right for him.
