Another Arsenal youngster set to leave as free agent

Michal Rosiak looks to be the next player to depart Arsenal as a free agent, with the teenager reportedly unlikely to sign a new deal.

Back in early June, Arsenal announced the departures of 20 players from the men’s first-team, the women’s team, and the academy upon the expiry of their contracts. But there were three more players with uncertain futures at the time.

Chloe Kelly has since gone on to sign for Arsenal permanently, and Thomas Partey is widely reported (though officially unconfirmed) to be departing the club.

That leaves Michal Rosiak, who is out of contract as of the end of June, with Arsenal having made him an offer to extend.

Jeorge Bird reports for Arsenal Youth that Rosiak is unlikely to sign the offer on the table from Arsenal, and he’s currently set to leave Arsenal.

Bird points out that Arsenal appear to have kept Rosiak’s number 52 shirt free just in case, but the player hasn’t returned to training with the u21 squad.

Given Rosiak’s age (19) and the contract offer on the table, Arsenal would be due some financial compensation from the player’s next club, despite his availability as a free agent. Clubs are required to pay training compensation fees for under-23 players who had an offer to stay.

Rosiak is a free-kick specialist who made 26 appearances for the Arsenal academy in 2024/25. The teenager made the bench for the Gunners first team in the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid, but he didn’t make it onto the pitch for the senior side.

The versatile right-back/defensive midfielder is also a Poland youth international, appearing up to the u19 age group.
