Leeds United are keen on a new striker this summer and Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham appears to be an option they’re considering.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has issued a verdict on his Achilles issue as he missed the last few games of the 2024/25 campaign because of it.

The Brazilian played 31 league games last season and found the back of the net on eight occasions.

Muniz’s Achilles tendon injury may cause an issue

The Whites are expected to see the nature of his Achilles injury before making the final decision to sign him, according to Dr Brar.

Leeds have bid £32 million for Muniz, but the Cottagers want more than that to part ways with the 24-year-old.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Muniz: “Leeds may take a closer look at his Achilles tendon problems to see if it’s something that may affect him longer-term.

“If they’re still persisting, it may cause issues with the medical or could see them cool interest.

“If it’s more of a short-term issue, then there shouldn’t be any problems. However, this is information we’re not privy to.”

Leeds United should not take a risk on Muniz

Signing Muniz is a risky move for Leeds United due to his recent Achilles injury and the high transfer fee demanded by Fulham.

The 24-year-old Brazilian striker suffered an Achilles injury that could sideline him for a while, raising concerns about his immediate impact and long-term fitness.

With Leeds desperate for a reliable striker to avoid relegation, Muniz’s injury history makes him a gamble.

Furthermore, Fulham’s valuation exceeding £32million is steep for a player with one standout season and injury concerns, especially when the Elland Road outfit could target proven alternatives for similar costs.

The financial and fitness risks make Muniz an unnecessarily costly option for Leeds’ urgent needs.
