Ollie Watkins has emerged on Manchester United’s radar amid the Red Devils compiling a list of strikers to potentially replace Rasmus Hojlund this summer.
Ruben Amorim has been tipped to sign a new striker ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season amid the struggles of both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
The 40-year-old United manager is expected to bolster his attacking options for his tactical system and improve the Red Devils’ lacklustre form from last season.
Watkins has been linked with United in the past and Aston Villa have reportedly slapped a £60m price tag on the 29-year-old England international this summer.

Juventus are linked with Jadon Sancho and have a transfer price tag for Douglas Luiz amid Man Utd’s interest
Jadon Sancho has attracted Juventus’ interest and the Serie A club have been linked with a potential swap deal with Manchester United involving Douglas Luiz.
Luiz has been linked with United this summer and the Old Lady are reportedly keen to offload the 27-year-old Brazilian midfielder to free up wages and recoup a fee.
The Brazil international only arrived at Juventus last summer, with the Italian club agreeing a deal worth £42.35m to sign Luiz from Premier League side Aston Villa.
According to il BiancoNero, Juventus have valued United-linked Luiz at around £34.5m amid their pursuit of former England and Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho.

Laurie Whitwell drops a new update on Man Utd striker Rasmus Hojlund amid Inter Milan’s transfer interest
Inter Milan have shown interest in Rasmus Hojlund and the 22-year-old Denmark striker has an uncertain future at Old Trafford after his disappointing second season.
Speaking on The Athletic’s Talk of the Devils podcast, Laurie Whitwell said that United would not move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins if Hojlund remains at the club.
“I do think it [a move for Ollie Watkins] is linked to Rasmus Hojlund’s future if he goes,” he explained.
“I’m speaking to people, and that’s perhaps more likely than not at this stage. Even a sale is more likely than a loan. We’ll see how it develops, but Inter are there firmly.
“If he goes, I can’t see how United can’t replace him. They would need an option and Ollie Watkins, to my knowledge, is one of those options.”
Hojlund, who is under contract with United until 2028, only managed to score 10 times in 52 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign.

Man Utd have one major problem in trying to sign Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa this summer
Aside from the ongoing situation around Hojlund, United have another difficult challenge in trying to bring Watkins to Old Trafford in the summer window.
The Daily Mirror reports that United have had talks with Villa over the England international, but the Red Devils are not ready to meet his £60m price tag.
According to the newspaper, United believe that Watkins’ age and lack of resale value puts the Three Lions forward out of reach for the transfer fee being asked.
It is added that Marcus Rashford, who spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Villa Park, could have been used as part of a swap deal for Watkins.
However, Villa decided against signing Rashford on a permanent basis in the summer, despite having a £40m buy option included in his loan deal.
