Alexis Mac Allister says he cannot believe tragic news about a title-winning team-mate.
The former [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) star was shocked by the death of Diogo Jota.
They have been colleagues since Mac Allister moved to Anfield from the Seagulls two years ago.

He has offered his own message on social media.
Mac Allister posted: “I can't believe it. I will always remember your smiles, your anger, your intelligence, your companionship and everything that made you a person.
“It hurts a lot, we will miss you. Rest in peace dear Diogo.”
Mac Allister shared a picture of himself celebrating on the pitch with Jota, who died in a car accident along with his brother Andre Silva.
Albion players past and present have also left simple tributes to Jota on social media.
They include Simon Adingra, Tariq Lamptey, Carlos Baleba, Julio Enciso, Steven Alzate, Anthony Knockaert, Shane Duffy, Glenn Murray and Portugal women’s international Tatiana Pinto.

Jota’s Portugal colleague Cristiano Ronaldo wrote in a post on X: “It doesn’t make sense. Just now we were together in the National Team, just now you had got married.
“To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you
