Arsenal held a meeting with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze's camp over the weekend, and he's keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium, journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed on GIVEMESPORT's Market Madness podcast.
The Gunners have already completed the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, but their business is unlikely to end there. Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the Gunners have exchanged all paperwork for the signing of Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, while Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi recently arrived in London to complete a move.
Focus could now turn to additions further up the pitch after a relatively disappointing Premier League season when it comes to their production in the final third. No Arsenal player hit double figures for goals in England's top flight during the 2024/2025 campaign, so we could see some new attackers arrive through the door in the coming weeks and months.

Speaking on GIVEMESPORT's Market Madness podcast, journalist Jacobs has confirmed that Arsenal recently held a meeting with Eze's camp over the weekend, and the England international is keen on a move. The Gunners now need to decide to go ahead with a deal...
"I need to bring you some good news, and thankfully I can. Eberechi Eze is keen on a move to Arsenal. At the weekend, there was a key meeting between the Eze camp and Arsenal, and in that meeting were senior recruitment and football figures. We're not talking just about interest, that meeting was about terms. Eze is already aware what Arsenal are prepared to pay and how they see him."

It's a positive step for Arsenal, and Jacobs has also confirmed that the Gunners don't view Eze as a left-sided player.
"The answer to the second part of that question is they view him as an attacking midfielder. So we're talking about Eze, plus a left winger, and that will allow Arsenal to be very busy in the next few weeks, because the number nine is coming as well. The left wing is quite interesting, because if Arsenal are going to go for a Rordygo or an Anthony Gordon, they're starting left wingers. So you might find that Arsenal become more inclined to sell a Gabriel Martinelli or even Leandro Trossard, despite the fact that at the moment, they're holding quite positive talks about a renewal for Trossard. But Eze is separate to the case of finding a left winger. He's viewed as an attacking midfielder, and he liked that pitch, as you would expect, because it's his preferred position."
Arsenal are now determining whether to go to Crystal Palace, Jacobs has confirmed, but they are not planning on triggering his £68m release clause...
"Arsenal now are determining whether to go to Crystal Palace. They know if they do, they've got player buy-in, and then it will all be about the negotiation. Because Arsenal, I'm told at the moment, are not thinking about triggering the £68m release clause. They prefer a different kind of deal. With Martin Zubimendi, they decided to go a bit higher than his release clause to get a bit more of a preferable payment structure. With Eze, my sense is more that Arsenal may go below the release clause and try and do something around the £55m-£60m mark, and we wait and see whether Crystal Palace are prepared to entertain that. It's quite a complicated release clause as well, in terms of how it's triggered. It was the same with Michael Olise. But that's kind of getting ahead of ourselves a little bit, because right now the situation is that Eze is keen on Arsenal. Arsenal are keen on Eze. They're not just talking broadly. They're starting to get into some of the financials and Crystal Palace are aware of this. But as of now, there's no bid or club-to-club negotiation, but that could obviously change very quickly."
It looks as though it could be a busy few weeks for Arsenal, with Jacobs confirming that the north London side are exploring a deal for Eze, while they also want to bring in a new striker this summer.
