'They will have to': There's one thing Arsenal need to do before they sign Eberechi Eze - journalist

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, Arsenal are slowly beginning to close deals for several targets.

Arsenal have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and they are also on the verge of signing Martin Zubimendi.

Another transfer saga that is now starting to work itself towards a closure is their hunt for a new striker. Recent reports suggest that Viktor Gyokeres is edging closer to an Arsenal move this summer.

Eberechi Eze is another player strongly linked with the Gunners in recent days, with Mikel Arteta’s side now leading the race to sign the Crystal Palace star. However, there is something that Arsenal might need to do before they can sign him.

Arsenal will need to sell first before signing Eberechi Eze

Journalist Julien Laurens has claimed that Eze to Arsenal is bound to happen however, there is something important that Mikel Arteta’s side need to do before they can sign the midfielder.

He explained that while Gyokeres deal is likely to go through, Eze’s signing will have to wait. This is because Arsenal will need to sell first to raise the required funds. Speaking to ESPN, he said:

“They will have to sell first which is something important that the fans will have to understand.

“Fans seem to think that all the clubs in the world have all the money, that they can just come and can sign anybody they want. They can’t like that.

“Gyokeres you could do. If you want Eze, you will have to sell first. Zinchenko, maybe Fabio Vieira who is back at the club after his loan to Porto.

“And you don’t have to sell one player for £50. You can sell three players for £20 each and that’s enough to get Eze in. But the way I see it and the way I understand it right now, Arsenal will have to be okay for Gyokeres but for Eze, they will have to sell first before being able to sign him.”

Eberechi Eze would be a great signing for Arsenal

Eze could prove to be a fantastic signing for Arsenal. Not only will he bring Premier League experience but he will bring another dimension to the left side of the attack.

Eze is an attacking midfielder who can also play on the left side of the attack. His ability to play both positions will give Arsenal an exciting edge and flexibility.

He would also be a smart coup, considering that Gabriel Martinelli’s future at Arsenal is uncertain

In terms of numbers, he has played the majority of his games so far as an attacking midfielder, scoring 35 goals and assisting 21 from the position.

Position Games Goals Assists

Since joining Palace, he has made 167 games, scoring 40 and assisting 28 across all competitions.

If Arsenal succeed in adding Eze, Gyokeres and Zubimendi to the team, they could really be a force to reckon with next season.
