The world of football and sport in general are in mourning due to the death of Diogo Jota – famous Portuguese footballer of Liverpool – and his younger brother André Silva in a car accident. The dynamics of this accident are unclear for now, but some witnesses have indicated that the Lamborghini in which the two footballers were traveling skidded (perhaps due to the explosion of a tire) and went off the road, before catching fire and also setting fire to the vegetation circumstances.
The police could do nothing, except to ascertain the death of the two young champions. In these hours, many athletes and sports legends have expressed their condolences for this terrible news and even the former world number 1 Rafael Nadal wanted to send his condolences to the family of these boys who died too soon.
"A really sad and painful news. All my love, closeness and support go out to his wife, children, family and friends during this terrible time. Rest in peace Diogo Jota and André Silva" – wrote the 22-time Grand Slam champion.

Rafa loves football
The Spanish legend has always been a huge fan of football, as his uncle was a Barcelona defender and passed on to him the passion for the sport since Rafa was very young.
At this point in his life, Nadal is cultivating his passions and is spending a lot of time with his family after he stopped playing tennis at a professional level.
The sensational career of the legend from Manacor ended in November last year, when he represented his Spain for the last time at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga. The former world number 1 received a splendid tribute at Roland Garros during the first day of the 2025 edition.
