Leeds United have been eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer.
The Brazilian has not found success at the Old Lady since he made the move to the Serie A last year.
Previously, the 27-year-old was one of Aston Villa’s best players, and the midfielder played a crucial role in the Birmingham outfit’s return to the Champions League.
As a result, Leeds have been keen to sign Luiz ahead of their upcoming Premier League season.

Daniel Farke has been far more active in the transfer window in recent weeks.

However, it now seems unlikely that Luiz will be added to the squad this summer.

Luiz struggled in the Serie A with Juventus
According to Tutto Sport (1 July), the Brazilian is not interested in a move to Elland Road despite Leeds’ interest.
This comes after Leeds had contracted Luiz’s agents over a potential move.
However, Juventus are still looking to sell the midfielder, and he is expected to leave the Old Lady at some point this summer.

While there is nothing wrong with being ambitious, Farke likely knew it was a long shot to sign Luiz this summer.
The Peacocks are likely to be fighting relegation next season, and it would have been a big fall for the Brazilian to go from the Champions League to potentially the Championship in such a short time.
Now, Farke must move on and focus on more realistic targets who will still improve the Yorkshire club’s squad.
A new midfielder is arguably the most important signing of the summer, and Leeds must get it right or they may find themselves doomed.
Hopefully, a new target is already being lined up by Farke before the new season begins ready for their first game.
