The Buffalo Bills have been seeking to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1990s, but they have been unable to overcome the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason.
In four out of the last five playoffs, Kansas City has taken down Buffalo, and the Bills have almost tried everything they can to ensure they get past the Chiefs.
Last year, the Bills traded for Cleveland Browns receiver Amari Cooper around the trade deadline in October, and he was supposed to come in and be an X-factor against the Chiefs.
Cooper never lived up to the hype and is now a free agent, joining another former Bills player who was traded to the team a few years ago.
Back in October of 2023, Buffalo traded for Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas, and a year and a half later, he is now a free agent.
Former Bills Player Rasul Douglas Could Head To The NFC
There has been some speculation that Douglas could end up signing with a team soon, andMatt Holder from Bleacher Report thinks the Los Angeles Rams would be a good fit for Douglas.
“Head coach Sean McVay made it no secret that he was interested in bringing back Jalen Ramsey, whom the Miami Dolphins recently traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Holder wrote. “After missing out on the Ramsey sweepstakes, the Rams could still use some help at cornerback as they make another Super Bowl push with the aging Matthew Stafford at quarterback.”
As Holder mentioned, the Rams just traded away their star cornerback, Ramsey, and Douglas could come in and help fill his role.
The Rams are close to winning a Super Bowl, just like the Bills, so if Douglas doesn’t return to Buffalo, going to Los Angeles would be a great option.
Douglas is entering his ninth NFL season and has 19 interceptions in 120 games.
The 30-year-old corner has played for four NFL teams — the Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers, Packers, and Bills — and could be heading to his fifth team soon.
There is an excellent chance Douglas played his last game with the Bills since the team has gone almost the entire offseason without wanting to bring him back.
Buffalo Should Think About Letting Douglas Return
Buffalo should think long and hard about letting Douglas leave their sight because the Bills should be adding every veteran player who can help them reach the Super Bowl.
Douglas has so much experience playing in postseason games that he could help the Bills out in a big-time way in a game that could make them reach their first Super Bowl in a long time.
All eyes around the NFL will be on the Bills this season to see what they do, as they are now the team that keeps knocking at the door but can’t get in.
