Benjamin Sesko will be even more excited to join Arsenal if new transfer rumour is true – opinion

Arsenal’s summer transfer business is largely going to be based around bolstering their attack.

Yes, the Gunners have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga while Cristhian Mosquera could also be set to sign, but the big money is to be spent in the attacking areas.

Arsenal will sign a new number nine this summer after years of hunting for a centre-forward, and one of their key targets is Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko has been strongly linked to Arsenal, and while a deal isn’t done yet, the RB Leipzig star may now be even more excited to sign for the Gunners as an exciting new rumour has emerged.

Benjamin Sesko may be excited by Xavi Simons to Arsenal rumours

According to Ben Jacobs, Xavi Simons is a player who could be under consideration from Arsenal.

“There’s an outside chance depending on what the final price is, and this is more left-field because he is a central attacking midfielder, but Xavi Simons is one that Arsenal really like. We know Tottenham have looked as well and the player is very keen on a move to the Premier League,” Jacobs said.

“There’s a window of opportunity, so I would keep a small eye on Arsenal.”

Benjamin Sesko may be happy to see Simons linked to Arsenal, after all, these two players know one another well from their time together at RB Leipzig.

We’ve seen over the years how players can link up with their current teammates at other clubs – Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz are set to do just that this season at Liverpool.

Sesko and Simons could be a very smart double swoop from Arsenal.

Xavi Simons’ record alongside Benjamin Sesko

Sesko and Simons have played plenty of football together over the years, and they have a fantastic record playing in the same team.

Unsurprisingly, with Simons being such a creative force, Sesko has a solid goalscoring record alongside the Dutchman.

Games 69

Wins 34

Draws 17

Losses 18

Benjamin Sesko goals 30

Xavi Simons assists 19

This is a solid partnership and it’s a duo that could take the Premier League by storm if they reunite at Arsenal.

With both players being just 22 years old, there’s plenty of room for this partnership to grow and blossom into something special in the coming years.

If Simons is indeed Arsenal-bound, Sesko will be incredibly excited by the idea of moving to the Emirates too.
