Alexander Isak says £10m player is 'fighting' Jacob Murphy to be the funniest at Newcastle…

Alexander Isak has named his funniest teammate at Newcastle United, with the honour going to Jacob Murphy.

The £12million winger usually gets the crown when Newcastle United players are asked who provides the laughs in the dressing room, while Toon fans have seen themselves how funny Jacob Murphy is with his memeable moments.

However, Murphy is also a leader at Newcastle United, as well as a joker. And when it comes to being the life of the party, it turns out that the 30-year-old has competition within the Newcastle United squad.

Alexander Isak says Will Osula is challenging Jacob Murphy to be Newcastle United’s funniest player

That is according to Alexander Isak, who was asked to name his funniest teammate on Tyneside during a quickfire questions interview with Versus on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Jacob Murphy,” he answered.

“But Will Osula is also, you know, fighting for that spot.”

Also in the interview, Isak was asked to name his best friends in football.

“I think right now in the team it is probably Sven Botman, Joe Willock and Emil Krafth,” he said.

What Ant and Dec said about Will Osula during Newcastle United’s trophy parade

It has been quite the debut year on Tyneside for Will Osula. He arrived in August 2024 for £10million from Sheffield United and has been part of the Magpies’ best season ever.

Newcastle won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League, with Osula part of every matchday squad. He made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

It is his moments off the pitch that have caught the eye of the Toon Army, with Osula stealing the show during Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup trophy parade.

Eddie Howe’s trophy winners were guided through the streets of Newcastle on an open-top bus, with Geordie heroes Ant and Dec interviewing the players along the way, including Osula.

After Osula hijacked the microphone and told Ant that he ‘knows the vibes’, Dec commented: “I want to go on a night out with Will Osula.”

That is a feeling shared by pretty much every Newcastle United supporter, with the 21-year-old adored by fans. He is also loved within the dressing room, with Osula very much at home at St James’ Park.
