Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have not given up hope of replacing Jhon Durán with West Ham’s [Mohammed Kudus](https://www.claretandhugh.info/mohammed-kudus-bio/), according to reports emerging from the Middle East.
The reports also name Victor Boniface as another potential replacement. Al Nassr were close to signing the striker previously but opted to pursue Durán instead.
Kudus has a £120 million release clause for Saudi clubs, although it’s understood that the player has no desire to move to the Middle East. Despite that, with a squad featuring a who’s who of high-earning stars led by Cristiano Ronaldo, it’s clear that West Ham’s preferred destination for a sale would be Saudi Arabia—where cash-rich clubs are rarely outbid.
Despite Kudus’s reluctance—and Tottenham Hotspur’s growing confidence in signing the West Ham winger—Al Nassr are not backing down. Whether the 24-year-old will be swayed by having untold riches thrown his way remains to be seen, but it looks unlikely.
Kudus hasn’t appeared particularly money-motivated. In fact, he was previously reported to have shown interest in joining Liverpool on reduced terms.
As of yesterday, West Ham had not received any official bids for Kudus, other than one part-exchange offer from Chelsea, which was rejected outright.
