The likely cause of the crash that tragically killed 28-year-old Liverpool soccer star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva has been revealed.
The soccer star and his brother died at the scene of the fiery crash in their Lamborghini on July 3.
"In the absence of a conclusion of the experts evidence, everything points that a car left the road, due to a tire blowout while overtaking," Spanish police told NBC News in a statement. They said that both occupants of the vehicle died when the car caught fire.
Jota and Silva died after their car "veered off a road and burst into flames" near the Spanish town of Zamora, according to the Associated Press.
Spanish police told AP earlier that they "were investigating the causes of the accident that occurred past midnight local time." The police said there were "no other vehicles involved" and the brothers were the only people in the vehicle.

Tragically, Jota was married late last month and his final Instagram photos and video showed his wedding to his wife, Rute Cardoso.
According to NBC News, Jota was only 28 years old and his younger brother, Silva, also a professional soccer player, was just 25.
The Portuguese national team wrote a joint tribute to the brothers on X.
"The Portuguese Football Federation and all of Portuguese football are utterly devastated by the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva this morning in Spain," the post reads.

"Far beyond being an exceptional player, with nearly 50 caps for the National Team, Diogo Jota was an extraordinary person, respected by all teammates and opponents, someone with a contagious joy and a reference within his own community," it says.
"On my behalf, and on behalf of the Portuguese Football Federation, I express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Diogo and André Silva, as well as to Liverpool FC and FC Penafiel, the clubs where the players, respectively, performed. The Portuguese Football Federation has already requested UEFA to observe a minute of silence this Thursday before our National Team's match against Spain in the Women's European Championship," concluded the post.
"We have lost two champions. The passing of Diogo and André Silva represents irreparable losses for Portuguese Football, and we will do everything to honor their legacy daily."
