Manchester United are in dire need of generating some significant funding this summer as the club look to rebuild their squad for next season.

Unfortunately the Red Devils’ transfer business is stalling, with a deal for Bryan Mbeumo being a key priority.

However, the negotiations with Brentford have slowed down, with a deadline being given of Friday 4th July, but with limited funds, United can’t afford to pursue other targets alongside Mbeumo.

As such the club are desperate to make sales, with Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho all on the priority sale list.

Rashford and Garnacho are even more of a priority as United academy graduates, therefore being seen as pure profit by the Premier League rule-makers, so selling the pair would benefit the club even further.

However, United are now set for a slightly different cash injection, coming from one of their prior sales.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Newcastle United have put in a £55 million bid for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga.

The 23-year-old winger has had a strong season as a part of the high-flying Tricky Trees side who held third place in the Premier League for a four-month period before falling at the last hurdle, coming seventh overall.

Elanga certainly made his presence felt on the pitch, playing across both wings and as a centre-forward, grabbing ix goals and 12 assists in 43 games.

Now, Newcastle are looking to sign the Sweden international, with United set to benefit from the sale with a considerable windfall payment.

Nathan Salt has added too the situation, reporting that the former Manchester United star has a 20% sell on clause in his contract which saw him move from Old Trafford to Nottingham Forest.

As such, United are set to earn around £8 million from the move if the £55 million offer is accepted.
