NSW Cup & Jersey Flegg: Round 18 Preview

Both the Canberra Raiders’ NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams will be staying at home this week, with the NSW Cup side taking on the Western Sydney Magpies, and Jersey Flegg facing the West Tigers.

Knock-on Effect NSW Cup

The Raiders’ NSW Cup side will be aiming to carry momentum into this week’s clash after a strong 40-26 win over the Knights in Newcastle.

The Raiders will be looking for a stronger start this weekend after trailing 26-10 at halftime before an incredible second-half comeback.

The Raiders currently sit 10th on the ladder, with the Magpies just ahead in 9th - setting the stage for a tightly contested match.

Both teams will be battling to keep their finals hopes alive and secure a spot in the top eight.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders’ Jersey Flegg side will be aiming to reclaim their spot at the top of the ladder after last week's draw against the Knights.

In a back and forth contest, nothing could split Canberra and Newcastle last weekend. The Raiders will return home in a bid to bounce back with a stronger performance.

Coach Jordan Macey has made minimal changes to the line-up this week, showing faith in his squad's consistency and performance. Brothers Mark and Luke Tuialii will both line up on an edge.

Meanwhile, the Wests Tigers will be hungry to bounce back after a narrow 28-22 loss to the Roosters last week.

With both sides eyeing a top-eight finish and finals footy just around the corner, this weekend's clash promises to be a fiercely competitive encounter.
