Forward Jabari Walker signs with new team: Report

The changes keep coming for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Forward Jabari Walker, who entered the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, has signed a two-way deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the news.

Walker played three seasons for the Blazers, who selected him in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft.

He appeared in 188 games, making 24 starts, and averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per outing.

Walker is the Blazers’ first unrestricted free agent to sign elsewhere. Guards Dalano Banton and Bryce McGowens are also unrestricted free agents.

The loss of Walker leaves the Blazers with five forwards on the roster: Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, Jerami Grant, Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert.

Justin Minaya is a restricted free agent. The Blazers have attempted to trade Grant.

The Blazers have yet to make a roster addition during free agency, which began Monday. They acquired guard Jrue Holiday from Boston in a trade for guard Anfernee Simons, and bought out the contract of center Deandre Ayton, who has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Lakers.
