The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Portland Trail Blazers forward Jabari Walker to a two-way contract. Shams Charania reported this news this afternoon. Walker has spent three seasons in Portland since being drafted 57th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Last season Walker averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game over 60 appearances with the Blazers. Those numbers were down significantly from his career-high season one year prior, in which he averaged 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game. Walker shot 51.5% from the floor in 2024-25, improving his three-point percentage to 38.9% alongside.
The Blazers could have retained Walker as a free agent this summer but they chose to forego that privilege, declining to make the requisite qualifying offer to retain him and right of first refusal over his new deal. That decision made Walker an unrestricted free agent, able to sign wherever he chose.
Philadelphia also signed former Blazers forward Trendon Watford on the opening night of free agency this year.
