A Killorglin native who spent the last year working as a matchday steward at Anfield for Liverpool FC has said that the entire city is in a huge “state of shock” following the news that player Diogo Jota was killed in a car crash alongside his brother, Andre Silva, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Lamborghini that they were travelling veered off the road and crashed in Zamora, Spain. The car is reported to have suffered a tyre blowout while overtaking another car. It’s reported that Jota was driving from Porto to Santander where he was to get a ferry back to England ahead of pre-season training.
