Jack Harrison’s future as a Leeds United player has been up in the air ever since he left on loan.

Leeds‘ pre-season is due to get underway, and as it stands, Jaka Bijol remains the only addition to have strengthened the side that achieved promotion from the Championship last season.

Lukas Nmecha and Sebastian Bornauw will both prove to be shrewd squad options, though Daniel Farke will be intent on adding more players to his squad who are capable of raising the ceiling.

With a deal for Nikola Krstovic stalling and a number of other targets moving elsewhere, it seems as though the Whites are struggling to finalise deals, and it could open the door for Harrison to return.

Leeds need Premier League experience

While the three additions may be strong ones, none of them have any real experience of playing in the top flight of English football, which will be a key factor when it comes to deciding who stays up and who goes down.

One player who has plenty of that at Elland Road is Harrison, though fans won’t be overly keen on the idea of him being the one to provide that.

However, after a failed loan spell at Everton, it’s hard to anticipate much interest in him this summer, and given his high wages, it’s just as unlikely that Leeds will allow him to sit out of matchday squads, if a move doesn’t happen.

Given his versatility and experience, there is a chance that Farke looks to incorporate him back into his squad, albeit more than likely as a squad player.

Leeds are stumbling in the transfer market right now, and unless they can accelerate plans to bolster their forward line, Harrison could return.

Farke isn’t being backed this summer

Farke doesn’t have a great record in the Premier League, though much of that comes down to the fact that he wasn’t backed throughout his time at Norwich.

However, unless the 49ers accelerate their efforts this summer, there is every chance that a similar fate awaits him at Leeds this season.
