Manchester City are not done in this summer’s transfer market.
After experiencing a tough 2024/25 campaign, Man City entered the summer transfer window with the intention of adding four to five new faces to Pep Guardiola’s squad, a target the Manchester club has already achieved.
City do not plan on stopping there, as other key areas still need to be addressed, with Fabrizio Romano tipping Man City to sign a right-back next, ahead of the new Premier League season getting underway in August.
An opportunity may now have presented itself in the market, and Man City have a strong chance of landing the player, should they opt to make a move.

Denzel Dumfries set to make Jorge Mendes his new agent
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Denzel Dumfries can be signed from Inter this summer for just £22m (€25m), as that is the release clause in the Dutch star’s contract, which is valid until mid-July.
This transfer fee could prompt Man City to make a move for the right-back, given their need for a player for that role, and the Premier League club’s chances of landing the 29-year-old may have just increased.
More Man City News
Romano has stated that Dumfries is about to switch agents, and that superagent Jorge Mendes looks like the man he will go with.
This is good news for Man City as Mendes has a good relationship with the English club and currently looks after five players in Guardiola’s squad, such as Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, and Ederson.
It would not be a surprise if the Portuguese agent offers the defender to Man City once he officially has the defender under his wing, and a move to the Premier League club may interest the player, as he has friends at City from his national team already in Nathan Ake and Tijjani Reijnders.
Man City fans are keen to see Dumfries at the Etihad Stadium next season, and if they make a move, the Manchester side would have a strong chance of landing him.
Barcelona pull out of Denzel Dumfries race
In addition to this news, Mundo Deportivo are also reporting that Barcelona are now unlikely to make a move for the Dutch star, as the Catalan club do not have the finances to get the deal done, with the La Liga giants currently more focused on bringing in Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
Barca were one of the clubs that had a strong interest in signing the 29-year-old this summer, and their exit out of the race has increased Man City’s chances of signing the Dutch star massively, should Guardiola opt to make a move over the coming days.
The biggest problem for City will be the player’s age, as the Manchester club will be hoping that the right-back they sign will be a long-term solution for the role, which Dumfries is not at the age of 29.
The Manchester club are not expected to make a move for the Inter defender, but it should at least be an option they consider, given the likelihood of success should they make a move.
