Dominic Calvert-Lewin does not appear to be short of options after his exit from Everton.

Everton have a huge summer ahead, and aside from the pending arrival of Thierno Barry, much of the focus has been on players departing Merseyside.

One of those confirmed to have left is Calvert-Lewin, whose contract with the Toffees ended at the start of the week.

His availability will attract interest, with Leeds one of several clubs mooted as a potential landing spot, though an offer has been made abroad which could come as a huge surprise if it were to progress any further.

Diego Simeone could match with Calvert-Lewin this summer

Calvert-Lewin had a tough few years at Everton, and his last campaign at Goodison Park will certainly not be remembered.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries and failed to get back to the form that earned him such a big reputation in English football.

Premier League 26 3 2

Calvert-Lewin’s Premier League record last season left a lot to be desired.

However, that isn’t likely to deter too many sides from pursuing his services, with it now claimed that Calvert-Lewin has been offered to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

That is according to Mundo Deportivo, as per Fichajes (3 July), though it is also stated that they aren’t prioritising the addition of a striker just yet.

Should this deal go through, it would be a huge move for the former Toffees star, who may have been expecting to have to rebound his way to the top after a poor few years.

Moyes needs more additions at Everton

This season is going to be a huge one for the Toffees, and most of the success that they can find will be determined by their recruitment this summer.

Barry will become their second arrival, after the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz, with several more expected in the coming weeks.
