**Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak recently sat down for a quick-fire interview with VERSUS in which he made a bold statement about Will Osula.**
The Magpies [signed Will Osula from Sheffield United](https://nufcfeed.com/will-osula-is-a-newcastle-united-player-after-signing-long-term-deal-keith-downie-718823) last summer for a fee believed to be around £15 million after Jason Tindall had been impressed with the youngster during his brief spell at the Blades.
It was a big move for the Denmark U21 star, but he had to remain patient throughout the season as his opportunities to show the Toon Army what he could do were few and far between.
In the few brief glimpses fans did get of Osula, many were impressed with his engine and his ability to take on players, although it was also clear why Eddie Howe was holding him back as he was still very raw.

Will Osula has impressed Newcastle fans with his raw talent
-----------------------------------------------------------
Osula has gone on to have a good tournament with Denmark at the U21s Euros, bagging a few goals and assists and will now be hoping that he's proven to Howe that he's ready for more opportunities next season.
While Howe has played Osula as a right winger rather than a centre-forward, Jacob Murphy could be feeling a bit under threat, however, it's not just his position on the pitch that Osula is gunning for if Alexander Isak is to be believed.
As part of an interview with VERSUS on X, Isak was asked who is the funniest teammate at Newcastle.
Jacob Murphy is going to have to up his game to stay on top
-----------------------------------------------------------
Isak went straight for Jacob Murphy, which we were expecting. Either him or Callum Wilson, anyway, but it was the follow-up that brought Osula to the table.
> "Jacob Murphy. But Will Osula is also, you know, fighting for that spot."
We absolutely get it, though. What we've seen of Osula off the pitch suggests that he is quite the clown. Likely very annoying to be around if you're a quiet person, but we can imagine he's always making the lads laugh with his hyperactivity.
