Manchester United’s transfer window continues to be shaped not just by their own activity, but by the shifting plans of clubs across Europe.
With several fringe players available for transfer, the club has been quietly exploring options for potential exits.
Among those being monitored for a possible move abroad is Antony, whose future at Old Trafford remains uncertain under Ruben Amorim.

United had been hoping that interest from La Liga — particularly from Real Betis — could provide the ideal solution for the Brazilian winger.
But that pathway may now be blocked.
Real Betis have officially confirmed the signing of Rodrigo Riquelme from Atletico Madrid, effectively ending their search for a new wide player.
The Seville-based club announced the deal on Instagram, writing: “Real Betis and Atletico de Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Rodrigo Riquelme.
“Welcome to your new home!”
Riquelme, who operates primarily on the wing, was highly rated at Atletico but struggled to cement a regular starting place in Diego Simeone’s system.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a breakout season with Girona on loan before returning to Atleti, and his move to Betis marks a fresh start at a club where attacking football is prioritised.

Atletico also confirmed the transfer in an official statement, noting that both parties had reached a full agreement for the player’s permanent departure.
This deal will come as a blow to Manchester United, who had been exploring Betis as a potential destination for Antony in a bid to recoup some of their investment.
The former Ajax winger has failed to hit expected heights in the Premier League and was thought to be open to a move that could revitalise his career.
However, with Riquelme now occupying a key role in Betis’ plans, the Spanish side are unlikely to pursue another winger in this window.
Real Betis president Angel Haro has broken his silence on the club’s transfer ambitions.
He confirmed that Betis are working towards signing Antony on a permanent deal following the Brazilian’s strong impact during his loan spell last season.
Antony’s options are narrowing — and with Betis off the table, United may now have to look elsewhere to facilitate his departure.
Riquelme’s move may have closed one door, but the clock is ticking for United to find another.
