Manchester City are not done in this summer’s transfer market.
The Manchester club have been one of the busier clubs in the Premier League over the summer as Pep Guardiola has seen four new faces arrive at the Etihad Stadium, which the legendary coach hopes can help close the gap on Liverpool ahead of the new campaign.
Man City are expected to move for a right-back before the Premier League gets back underway in August, but other areas may also be addressed.
A new winger is not a priority for City over the coming weeks; however, a rare opportunity may have just presented itself to the English giants.

Real Madrid are now open to selling Rodrygo
Heading into the summer transfer window, Man City showed an interest in Rodrygo, but it was uncertain if Real Madrid would let the Brazilian go, as Xabi Alonso had not decided on the winger yet.
It was reported last week that Guardiola is no longer interested in signing Rodrygo, but that could change over the coming weeks, as The Athletic are reporting that Real Madrid are now ready to sell the 24-year-old ahead of the 25/26 campaign getting underway next month.

The Brazilian does not seem to be in the plans of Alonso, as the winger has received just 88 minutes of action at the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, which is a clear indication that the player is not a key part of the new Real Madrid coach’s plans.
The Mirror reports that the La Liga giants want £77m to part ways with Rodrygo this summer, but now that the Spanish club’s stance has been made clear, an interested party could negotiate a lower fee for the transfer of the winger.
This latest update on the 24-year-old should make Man City reconsider their stance on the player, as the Madrid star could have a huge impact on how the season goes for Guardiola’s team.
Man City should consider doing a U-turn on Rodrygo
Although Jeremy Doku impressed for Man City at the Club World Cup, and Savinho played a lot of minutes in the United States, the signing of Rodrygo would be a big upgrade on both stars.
The Brazilian is a top talent and has shown at Real Madrid for many years that he is capable of making a difference at the highest level, and working under Guardiola, the winger would be expected to take another step forward in his development.
With Jack Grealish expected to leave Man City over the coming weeks, this leaves a space for the 24-year-old in Guardiola’s squad and the payroll.
Player Games Goals Assists Minutes
Rodrygo 53 14 11 3448
Jeremy Doku 41 8 9 2232
Savinho 48 3 13 3087
Rodrygo seems more attainable now than ever, and although Man City don’t necessarily need the winger, the La Liga star would make a big difference at the Etihad Stadium, which is what the Premier League club are looking for from new signings.
The Manchester club need to at least consider a U-turn regarding Rodrygo, and if it is not financially viable with a right-back still needed, then that would be fair enough.
