Tottenham Hotspur officially appoint ex-Manchester United assistant manager

Manchester United are entering a defining era under Ruben Amorim, with pre-season offering a fresh opportunity to reset after a turbulent 2024/25 campaign.

Amorim’s focus on structure, discipline and tactical versatility has brought renewed energy to Carrington, where every session is being treated like an audition.

While United continue to explore additions to the squad, the spotlight also remains on departures, with several fringe players expected to move on before the window closes.

Off the pitch, former United staff members are beginning to carve out impressive careers elsewhere — with one in particular making waves in women’s football.

Martin Ho, who served as assistant coach at Manchester United Women, has now been appointed as the new Head Coach of Tottenham Hotspur Women, as the club officially confirmed via their website.

Spurs confirmed the news in a club statement, saying: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Martin Ho as our new Women’s Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028.”

The Liverpool-born coach returns to England after an outstanding spell in Norway with SK Brann, where he delivered both domestic and European success.

Just six months into his tenure, Martin Ho guided Brann to become the first Norwegian club to reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage, winning all four qualifying matches.

His side finished second in a tough group featuring Lyon, Slavia Praha and St. Polten, before eventually losing to Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

In 2024, he led Brann to second in the Toppserien and into the semi-finals of the Norwegian Cup, once again qualifying for the Champions League.

The current 2025 season sees Brann sitting just one point behind league leaders Valerenga after 14 matches.

At United, Ho had been part of the coaching team that reached the FA Cup Final in 2022/23 and secured a second-place finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

His new role at Tottenham marks a major step forward in his coaching career — and United fans will be watching closely to see how another former Red develops on the sidelines.
