Without the money that comes with European football, sales were to be expected to fund new signings, but now we know there is a group of players actively looking for an exit.
That’s according to multiple reports on Friday, which claim that Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have informed United they wish to leave.
It is claimed that United have delayed their return date for pre-season training until late July to allow the quintet to ‘explore potential solutions further’. If their futures are not sorted by then, they will return to Carrington training ground.
The Independent reports that Rashford expected to report for pre-season on Monday, but his future seemingly lies away from United after the club handed his shirt number to Matheus Cunha.
The Brazilian attacker, who moved from Wolves for a £62.5 million transfer fee earlier this summer, will now wear the no.10 jersey.
