Northern Ireland youth international Callum Leacock has completed a move to West Ham United.

The 16-year-old defender put pen to paper on a three-year contract earlier today, thereby becoming the latest in a long list of players to make the move across the Irish Sea in recent years.

Formerly of Linfield Swifts, Leacock is expected to team up with the Under 18s. His move to West Ham was initially rubber-stamped back in February.

Having made his senior debut for Linfield during the 2024/25 campaign, the defender

Swifts manager Michael Gault, speaking about the transfer earlier this year insists Leacock has what it takes to become a Premier League footballer.

"Callum deserves his chance at West Ham," he said. "No doubt about it, he will thrive over there. You could tell straight away he was going to be a very good player. Callum is big and strong with a great attitude."

Leacock, who is represented by the One Two Football Agency, follows the likes of Josh Briggs, Patrick Kelly, Callum Marshall, Michael Forbes, Sean Moore and Joel Kerr from Ireland to West Ham, although none are yet to make the breakthrough into the club's first team squad.
