Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho have informed Manchester United that they wish to leave the club this summer.
United have delayed their return to pre-season training to give them time to find new clubs and Aston Villa have been put on red alert.
Garnacho and Sancho, along with fellow United outcasts Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, have been given extended leave and won’t be required to return to Carrington until later in July.
Villa have been linked with both Garnacho and Sancho in their search for extra firepower. Unai Emery is keen to strengthen the wide forward positions after losing last season’s loan stars Marco Asensio and Rashford.
Garnacho, 21, scored six goals in the Premier League for United last season but he was overlooked by boss Ruben Amorim for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentina international posted a picture of himself wearing a Villa top with ‘Rashford 9’ on the back in June after being linked with the club.
Sancho, meanwhile, was tentatively connected with Villa after Chelsea opted against taking up their £25m option to sign him permanently.
Sancho, 25, joined United in a £73m deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 but he has struggled to replicate his Bundesliga form in the Premier League. He contributed three goals and four assists in the Premier League while on loan at Chelsea last season.
