Crystal Palace had been lining up a move for Genoa defender Koni de Winter this summer, before John Textor’s problems ‘overwhelmed’ them.
That’s [according to Tuttomercatoweb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/genoa-de-winter-pezzo-pregiato-inter-sempre-attenta-ci-sono-tre-inglesi-2120975), who report that Crystal Palace had been moving in a very concrete way for the 23-year-old.
They explain that De Winter has plenty of suitors this summer after impressing at Genoa in the last two years after initially arriving on loan.
Inter Milan are currently moving for him as they plan a major overhaul of their squad this summer and contacts have been made in the last few hours.
But they know that there is competition from the Premier League, with Crystal Palace one of the sides who had been making their own moves.
Indeed, among the suitors in England they had been the only club to move in a very concrete way for the defender but that has now ended.
According to TMW that is because of the issues currently enveloping John Textor, which has now ‘overwhelmed’ the Eagles and stopped transfer business.
Whether this is his attempts to sell his shares, the issue with them being blocked from Europe because of his involvement in the club, or the situation at Lyon, isn’t made clear. They simply state that the ‘Textor affair’ has overwhelmed Crystal Palace and stopped the move for De Winter.
Whether they revive their interest after those various issues are solved is something that may reveal itself later in this summer, unless someone else gets there first.
