This summer window will be a huge crossroads for some Leeds United players. Going into the Premier League, everyone knows that not everyone from the squad will make the jump to the top flight.
It is especially a key time in the career of some of the young players at the club. So far under Daniel Farke, he has been selective in which young players he uses – Archie Gray was a starter under him, while Joe Gelhardt was loaned out.

This summer the club has put Gelhardt, Gyabi and Greenwood up for sale, expecting some profit for PSR reasons. Mateo Joseph is also a player who could find himself leaving Elland Road, with the reports of a new striker being lined up.

Under Victor Orta, Leeds would target young players from other clubs, and sign them in hopes of them developing to become first team stars. It had some success; producing Crysencio Summerville and Pascal Struijk, but most players have left the club in recent years without making the first team.
It looks like the 49ers could be looking at this strategy. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds are targeting Santa Clara defender Suaibo Jassi. The teenager has been making waves around Europe and has been catching the eye of big teams. Sporting CP, Borussia Dortmund and Brentford are some of the names Leeds could be competing with this summer.

Leeds and Brentford believe the player can become a first team star in the next few seasons.
This is not the player Leeds should be targeting
Leeds have done well in recruiting for the Premier League. So far, the club have improved the squad depth and quality overall. Fans will be pleased that Joel Piroe finally has some competition this summer. But the plan to sign Suaibo Jassi is deviating from the club’s path.
All the focus and the resources in this transfer window should be to sign players who are ready to help the club immediately. Jassi is a signing from the future.
