Pittsburgh Steelers rookie defensive lineman Yahya Black took to social media earlier this week to announce that he is now engaged to his girlfriend, Hailiy.
In the new post, the captain reads 'Always to forever 6-29-25.’
Black is the latest Steelers player to get engaged. Fellow defensive lineman Daniel Ekuale announced his engagement on Monday.
Recently, tight end Pat Freiermuth and quarterback Aaron Rodgers each announced their engagement and marriage, respectively.
Others, such as linebacker Payton Wilson, pass rusher Julius Welschof, and guard Mason McCormick, have either tied the knot or become engaged. It has been an eventful offseason for Steelers couples.
Black was one of two defensive tackles the Steelers drafted after picking Derrick Harmon in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Black is a nose tackle type that the team saw down at the Senior Bowl. A strong player, he can play anywhere from 0-technique to 4i, and he is a perfect fit for the Steelers’ defense. He will join Logan Lee on the defense and is now the third Hawkeye to join the Steelers after the team picked running back Kaleb Johnson in the third round.
