Kudus Transfer Gets Spiced Up as Chelsea Enter Bidding

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s worst fears may be about to become reality, following reports that Chelsea are now negotiating with West Ham over the transfer of Mohammed Kudus.

Earlier today, Ben Jacobs revealed that Levy was growing increasingly concerned the Hammers would agree to sell the Ghanaian winger to their West London rivals. Jacobs reiterated the well-established asking price of £65–70 million, a figure Tottenham have not come close to meeting with bids of £50m & £55m.

This followed wild speculation suggesting there was a so-called “Tottenham tax”—a higher price the Hammers would allegedly demand if selling to Spurs.

Whether Chelsea’s interest will force Daniel Levy to meet David Sullivan’s demands remains to be seen—but for the first time this window, it feels like West Ham might be getting the mini bidding war they’ve been waiting for.
