To say that Baker Mayfield has been impressive since arriving in Tampa Bay would be a gross understatement.
All he's done is post back-to-back career seasons while leading the Buccaneers to two straight division titles during their current run of four in a row.
While he's often overlooked by the national media, he finally placed on an impressive list from FOX Sports.
Baker is No. 7 on its list of the top 10 NFL quarterbacks heading into 2025.
"Mayfield is coming off a career season. He rediscovered his footing in the NFL in 2023 and then broke out in 2024, completing 71.4% of his passes for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns while leading the Buccaneers back to the playoffs. While Mayfield will be without one of his top weapons in Chris Godwin to start the season, Tampa Bay drafted Emeka Egbuka in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They also have elite pass-catching options on the perimeter and in the backfield in Mike Evans and Bucky Irving."
FOX says Baker "rediscovered his footing" in 2023, but it fails to mention he posted a career year then too, with 4,044 yards, 28 touchdowns and a 64.3 completion percentage. All career highs until his 2024 numbers.
Mayfield will have a plethora of talent around him for 2025 and the Bucs are expected to make a deep run. With a rejuvenated rushing attack behind Bucky Irving and Rachaad White and a receivers room that includes Mike Evans and Godwin, as well as new addition Emeka Egbuka, Bucs fans could be enjoying another championship season in Tampa Bay.
