Manchester United have had their share of world-class strikers throughout the Premier League era.
Although there has been a shortage of those in the past decade, with Manchester United continuing to struggle domestically, fans can reminisce about when Eric Cantona, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney would score goals against teams for fun.
Ruben Amorim only had one striker to rely on last season, with a ton of responsibility placed on Rasmus Hojlund’s shoulders at such a young age. United are expected to sign a new striker this summer who will ease the workload and responsibility on Hojlund, but the Dane won’t want to lose his place in the team.
United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves after the Brazilian forward scored 17 Premier League goals last term. He is expected to add goals to Amorim’s side, and attempts have been made to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
The Red Devils are looking for their next goalscorer to take the team to the next level.
In recent years, the recruitment team failed to sign a striker to provide goals that could make United a dominant force again.

Rio Ferdinand selects Premier League Striker Mount Rushmore
The Premier League Striker Mount Rushmore challenge involves picking four elite strikers to have played in England since 1992.
Former United defender Rio Ferdinand is the latest to take the challenge.

Ferdinand involved one United teammate in his top four, with Wayne Rooney listed along with Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Sergio Aguero.
This led to several debates about strikers who missed the cut, including Cristiano Ronaldo, although he was more of a winger during his initial spell in the Premier League rather than a striker.
There was no place for Andy Cole or Ruud van Nistelrooy, but few could argue with the strikers Ferdinand put forward for his Premier League Striker Mount Rushmore.
Ferdinand played against Shearer, Henry and Aguero during his career but he won everything at United with Rooney, including the double in 2008.
Ferdinand explains Robin van Persie snub
In his first season at United, after joining from rivals Arsenal, Robin van Persie won the Premier League and his second consecutive Premier League Golden Boot.
There is no denying that he was among the best strikers in the world at the time, but Ferdinand explains that is because he didn’t join United sooner in his career.
Ferdinand was asked whether Van Persie was unlucky to miss out on a place in his Premier League Striker Mount Rushmore.
“If he left Arsenal earlier, say it,” Ferdinand said.
“If Van Persie, ‘Van Pizzle’ is what I used to call him. If Van Pizzle left Arsenal three years earlier, he would have been on Mount Rushmore.”
Arsenal fans won’t want to admit it but Van Persie wasted a lot of time there chasing the Premier League title, whereas he won it in his only season playing under Sir Alex Ferguson.
