Liam and Noel Gallagher paid tribute to Diogo Jota at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday as Oasis began its comeback reunion tour.
An image showcasing Jota in his No. 20 Liverpool jersey was displayed on the big screen behind the Gallagher's, as they performed the classic Oasis song 'Live Forever' in a fitting tribute. The sports community has been mourning the loss of Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, after they died in a car accident on Thursday.
The Gallaghers are big Manchester City fans, but they showed their class as they paid tribute to the former Liverpool star following the heartbreaking tragedy. Jota was also honored earlier in the show, as the supporting act Cast took to the stage.
John Power, lead vocalist for Cast, is a Liverpool supporter, and he dedicated the song 'Walkaway' to Jota. "This is Walkaway. This one is for Diogo Jota. Take it easy, brother," Power said.
Tributes also took place across the pond in the United States as the FIFA Club World Cup continued in Orlando. Al-Hilal lost 2-1 to Fluminense in the first quarter-final, which was emotional for Jota's former teammates Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo.
Before the game started, a moment of silence was held to honor Jota and his brother, and Neves and Cancelo were both reduced to tears. Both players were long-time teammates with Jota, and Neves considered the Liverpool forward his best friend in soccer.
Neves wrote an emotional tribute on Instagram after learning of Jota's passing, expressing sadness for losing a family member. "Wherever you are, I know you'll read this," Neves wrote. We've never been that stupid, and maybe now I regret it a little, but you know what you mean to me as much as I know what I mean to you.
"More than a friend, we're family, and we won't stop being that way just because you've decided to sign a contract a little further away from us! When I go to the national team, you'll continue to be by my side at the dinner table, on the bus, on the plane... you'll always be there with me, as usual.
"We'll continue to laugh, make plans, share our lives with each other. I'll make sure you're always there and I'll make sure your family never lacks anything while you're there, far away but thinking about us, waiting for us.

"Life brought us together and now it can't separate us. We've achieved beautiful things together, we still have a lot to achieve, I know we'll make it.
"Starting today, you'll enter the field with me, and we'll follow our path together, on the stage where we met. Diogoal, you are my favorite lemonade!!"
In Liverpool, thousands of fans have been mourning the loss of Jota at Anfield, with tributes being laid outside the stadium. Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson visited Anfield on Friday, after penning a moving tribute on social media.
"I really can't believe what has happened today and all I can think about is Diogo and Andre's family," Henderson wrote. "It's unimaginable the pain you all must be suffering. All of our prayers, love and support are with you now and forever.

"Jots it was a pleasure to share a pitch with you but more importantly a friendship. All the laughs we had off the pitch and trying to find ways to wind Milly up and get him fined, which we never could.
"Taking pictures of me asleep on the bus travelling then sending them to me later. You always wanted to have a laugh and were a pleasure to be around.
"I know how much Rute and your family meant to you and I know you will always be looking down on them. Thank you for everything you brought into this world, we will all miss you. Rest in peace along with your brother Andre. Love ya mate. YNWA."
