The funeral of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva will take place this morning after the tragic passing of the Liverpool striker and his brother in a car accident earlier this week.
Jose Manuel Macedo, from the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar in Sao Cosme, confirmed to reporters on Friday that the service will begin at 10 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET). Jota and Silva were killed in a car crash near Zamora, Spain, in the early hours of Thursday.
The bodies of the two brothers arrived in hearses just before midnight on Friday and were met with applause by local residents. They will be laid to rest in Gondomar, where they grew up, on Saturday.
Family and friends gathered at the church where they had been taken on Friday for a private wake. Some hugged and wept before entering the Capela da Ressurreicao Sao Cosme, where the funeral will be held.
Members of the public also gathered for a public wake later in the day. They queued up to pay tributes as a period of national mourning continues in Portugal.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Portuguese president, was in attendance, in addition to Football Federation chief Pedro Proenca. Jota and Silva's parents, Joaquim and Isabel, were also pictured, in addition to the Liverpool man's agent, Jorge Mendes.

Ricardo Horta and Joao Moutinho, who played alongside Jota for the Portuguese national team and now represent Primeira Liga club Braga, were there to pay tribute. So too were former Liverpool midfielders Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara.
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot and Nottingham Forest forward Jota Silva were also there on Friday. FC Porto president Andre Villas-Boas was also present, with Jota playing for the Portuguese club before moving to England.
Back on Merseyside, fans have paid their respects on Thursday and Friday. Shirts, scarves, flags and more have been laid out on the grass outside the Main Stand.
Ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was in tears as he paid tribute, while Everton players Beto and Youssef Chermiti, who are both from Portugal, laid a wreath in a classy mark of respect.

"I really can't believe what has happened today and all I can think about is Diogo and Andre's family," Henderson wrote on Instagram. "It's unimaginable the pain you all must be suffering. All of our prayers, love and support are with you now and forever.
"Jots it was a pleasure to share a pitch with you but more importantly a friendship. All the laughs we had off the pitch and trying to find ways to wind Milly up and get him fined, which we never could.
"Taking pictures of me asleep on the bus travelling then sending them to me later. You always wanted to have a laugh and were a pleasure to be around. I know how much Rute and your family meant to you and I know you will always be looking down on them.
"Thank you for everything you brought into this world, we will all miss you. Rest in peace along with your brother Andre. Love ya mate. YNWA."
