Manchester United have so far reinforced their offense by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Based on last season’s performance, Amorim is aware that he needs to strengthen the quality and depth of all the departments to turn things around at Old Trafford.
News –£20.8million a year star would be prepared to secure Man Utd move
If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are looking to complete a swap deal with Juventus involving Douglas Luiz and Jadon Sancho.
As per today’s edition of The Daily Star, Juve are ready to agree a deal worth £35m to sell Luiz to Manchester United and have expressed their interest in luring Sancho.
Sancho spent the last campaign on loan with Chelsea, who paid £5m fine for breaking the agreement to permanently sign him.
The England international is determined to leave the Red Devils, who paid a mammoth fee worth £73million to sign him from Borussia Dortmund a few years ago.
His current contract at Old Trafford will expire next year and as per reports coming from Italy today (Corriere dello Sport), Juve would like to buy him for 25 million euros plus add-ons in case Manchester United do not complete an exchange deal involving Luiz.
In his last season in the Premier League, the Brazilian midfielder netted 9 goals and provided 5 assists to help Aston Villa earn a place in the UEFA Champions League.
However, he has had a dismal time since moving to the Serie A. Last term, Luiz failed to score or create a single goal in 27 appearances and was mainly a bench warmer.
He made 19 appearances in the Italian league but was only named in the starting XI on three occasions.
Even during the Club World Cup, he only featured for 45 minutes in the opening game against Al-Ain and was an unused substitute in the rest of the fixtures.
Unlike Sancho, Luiz has proved his worth in England and in all fairness, Juve has not given him a fair chance in Italy as yet. In your opinion, should Manchester United sign the South American in exchange of Jadon?
