Report: Leeds United's rivals see monster bid to sign 'quality striker' rejected as 49ers ready second bid

Rodrigo Muniz looks like a prime transfer target for Leeds United this summer. But Fulham are playing hardball, standing by their ambitious £50million valuation of the Brazilian.

Daniel Farke is looking to sign a marquee striker for Leeds United this summer. And it seems like the one he wants is Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz.

The Cottagers’ super-sub, Muniz scored eight goals in 31 Premier League games last season, making just eight starts for Marco Silva’s side.

Already this summer, it’s reported that Leeds United have had a £32million bid for Muniz rejected by the Londoners. Fulham want £50million for Muniz and the price tag has certainly got a lot of Leeds fans debating whether it’s a good move or not.

Leeds United are preparing another bid for Muniz, it’s understood, but Farke’s side now look set to face stern competition from one of their new Premier League rivals in the race to sign the 24-year-old former Middlesbrough loan man.

Spurs see bid rejected for Leeds United transfer target Rodrigo Muniz

Reports coming out of Brazil now claim that Spurs have also seen a £32million bid for Muniz rejected by Fulham. Bolavip has revealed the news, as new Spurs manager Thomas Frank eyes Muniz as part of his Tottenham squad overhaul this summer. But Fulham remain adamant that he’s not for sale, unless their £50million valuation is met.

What’s more, Fulham are planning to offer Muniz a new contract with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2026. In June, reports revealed how Muniz is open to the idea of joining Spurs this summer, though his stance on a possible move to Elland Road remains unclear. Last season, Silva described Muniz as a ‘quality striker’.

So far this summer, Leeds United have signed three new players which includes one striker: Lukas Nmecha who’s joined on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.

Muniz is just one of a few strikers that Farke is chasing right now. But he’s certainly the marquee man and he could yet become Leeds’ record signing if Leeds are forced to go closer to the £50million mark that Fulham are demanding.

Elsewhere, Callum Wilson is backed to be a success at Leeds as his Newcastle United future remains wholly unclear. Recently, Newcastle United removed Wilson from their website suggesting that he’s been released, before re-adding him in a bizarre turn of events.

Another striker liked by Farke is Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. And recent reports have revealed that Brighton will sell Ferguson for just £28million this summer, marking a huge decrease from the £100million that he was valued at just a couple of years ago.

One thing is certain though, and that’s that Leeds United need at least one proven, quality striker signing in this summer’s transfer window.
