Three transfers Man United can complete next week as squad returns for pre-season

Manchester United players will be returning to Carrington this week as they prepare for the start of their pre-season training.

Most of the squad will be back with manager Ruben Amorim but MEN Sport reported on Friday that five players will be delaying their returns to Carrington. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have all informed the club of their desires to move elsewhere and, as such, have been granted an extended summer break to help them achieve these moves.

Come Monday, it will be less than two weeks until United take to the pitch against Leeds in their first pre-season fixture of the summer. So the objective will be to ensure plenty of transfers are completed before then so Amorim can assess what he is working with at Old Trafford.

That being said, MEN Sport has taken a look at three transfers which can be completed next week.

Bryan Mbeumo

This transfer is more a case of needing to be completed this coming week. The Bryan Mbeumo transfer saga has now rolled on for too long and United really need to get it done so they can start focusing on other areas of their squad - chiefly centre-forwards.

There is no doubting that the Cameroonian would improve this squad but United had been hoping he would be a Red before the start of pre-season. That seems highly unlikely now considering that starts on Monday but nevertheless, a deal for the forward is a deal which can be completed next week if there is a breakthrough in negotiations.

Jadon Sancho

Juventus have just completed the signing of Canadian international Jonathan David so their focus now will be on other new recruits. Reports in Italy suggest that Sancho is at the top of their list and, on paper, it seems like this could be a deal that can be completed quickly.

United, Juve and Sancho all want the deal so there shouldn't really be an issue, right? Well, a sticking point could be Sancho's salary which currently does not fit into the Turin club's wage structure.

However, once a workaround is found for that issue, this looks like a deal that will carry steam quickly.

Marcus Rashford

This final transfer all depends on factors outside of the control of the Reds and Rashford. United need to sell their academy graduate this summer and they seem more than happy to do so considering Matheus Cunha is poised to be given Rashford's shirt number.

The issue here lies with the lack of offers on the table. Barcelona is the dream destination for Rashford and they could come in next week considering their first choice, Nico Williams, has committed his long-term future to Athletic Bilbao.

United and Rashford will now be waiting intently for Barca to make their move.
