Everton are working on adding new faces to their squad this summer with the new PSR window now open.
It has been a slow start to the summer for Everton, who have only been able to make Carlos Alcaraz’s loan permanent.
David Moyes has also seen a number of his players leave the club as free agents.
There is hope Idrissa Gana Gueye will sign a new Everton contract after Michael Keane inked a new one-year deal.
With Gueye closing in on committing his future to the Toffees, there will be some hope that the Blues still add more players.
Everton are keen to add new midfielders, and there has now been a major development in the race to sign one of their targets.

Everton make move for Wilfred Ndidi
It has previously been reported that Everton hold an interest in Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City.
The Nigerian midfielder has a £9m relegation clause included in his contract with the Foxes who will be playing Championship football this season.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
According to GiveMeSport, Everton are working on a deal closer to the region of £5m to land Ndidi this summer.
The Toffees are not alone in their pursuit of the midfielder, with Manchester United also eyeing a move for the Leicester man.
But it is not just Premier League clubs in the mix for Ndidi as the three Saudi clubs, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, and NEOM SC are all in the mix for his signature.
Everton hold a long-term interest in Ndidi, having looked to sign the midfielder last year following Leicester’s promotion.
With the Nigerian looking to avoid Championship football this season, a move is looking a lot more realistic for the 28-year-old.
After all, he is a player who received the approval of Pep Guardiola, who previously said: “Ndidi is doing really well. Tielemans is a top, top-class player.”
Pressure rising on Tim Iroegbunam’s future
It was a difficult campaign for Tim Iroegbunam at Goodison Park, with injuries hindering his availability.
Clearly, Everton have gone into the summer aware they need to make improvements to their midfield.
Iroegbunam is going to require a big pre-season under Moyes if he is to make an impact on the starting XI this season.

Harrison Armstrong is fighting for a spot at Everton following his impressive loan stint at Derby County.
And the addition of an experienced professional like Ndidi could push Iroegbunam even further down the pecking order.
