Journalist shares harsh reality about Kyle Walker and Everton after agreeing Burnley move

Everton were hot on the radar of Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, or so it seemed.

It was said that David Moyes and The Friedkin Group were looking to plot a move for Walker this summer.

The transfer of Walker to Everton was a shock, with the 35-year-old not wanted by Man City anymore.

Walker wasn’t welcomed by Everton fans with the right-back seemingly looking past it after a handful of poor performances, but thankfully for them, he has instead chosen an even more shocking move to Burnley.

This saga is firmly over now, but were Everton actually that interested in signing Walker in the first place?

The real truth about Kyle Walker joining Everton

The defender has been renowned for being the greatest right-back in Premier League history, but he’s way past his sell-by date now.

Walker was open to an Everton move as the deal seemed to be firmly on to happen this window.

But with Scott Parker’s men having now swooped in, it seems Moyes will be facing the defender rather than having him at his disposal.

It was made clear that Everton weren’t pursuing Walker, and journalist Daniele Longo has backed up that point.

Longo said after Ornstein announced Walker agreed on a move to the Clarets, Everton were never ‘truly in the race’.

Everton might regret Walker transfer after Kenny Tete fiasco

With yet another target being missed out on, The Friedkins must get a move on.

The days are already ticking down in July, and not one new face has entered the frame.

Surely this must raise concerns from Moyes’ side, as missing out on Kenny Tete might have started a trend that Evertonians will not want to hear.

Walker’s signature might not actually have been the worst deal in the world now, as the right-back could have provided experience, but more importantly, a right-back who could deliver, which is lacking at Everton.

Moyes doesn’t trust Nathan Patterson, so it’s clear the Toffees might come to regret not taking Walker’s pursuit more seriously.
