Barcelona are expected to make another approach for Liverpool forward Luis Diaz after seeing their initial effort rejected, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The La Liga winners remain on the lookout for a new left-sided winger this summer and are believed to have earmarked Diaz as an alternative to Athletic Bilbao ace Nico Williams.
The Spanish international had been heavily linked with a move to the Nou Camp since the start of the summer but opted to commit his future to Bilbao by signing a new long-term contract last week.
As a result, Barcelona are now shifting their focus to other targets and are believed to retain interest in 'world-class' Diaz, who was also approached by Bayern Munich this week.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Barcelona have several options on the table in their winger search, including Liverpool ace Diaz:
“What happens for Barca now? Remember the options they have on the table. Don't forget Luis Diaz. They already made an approach to Liverpool more than one month ago. Liverpool said no to that approach, as Liverpool also said no to Bayern in recent days for Luis Diaz.
“But I expect Barca to ask again, to approach again, and to try again for Luis Diaz, because Barcelona, at the start of the summer transfer window, wanted Luis Diaz.
“I expect Barca to make one more try for Luis Diaz this summer. Let's see what Liverpool will decide to do.”
Barcelona are also said to hold an interest in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is expected to depart Old Trafford permanently this summer.
The English forward is believed to have handed in a transfer request and has no future under Ruben Amorim, having spent the last six months on loan at Aston Villa.
Barcelona have loaned out winger Ansu Fati to Monaco to make space for a new addition in attack, with Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres now the only wingers in the squad.
